Terms of Service
Core terms for the hosted Virtual Context service and the relationship between the cloud product and the open source engine.
1. Service overview
Virtual Context provides a hosted service around the Virtual Context engine, including account access, tenant provisioning, dashboard functionality, billing, and related website services. The open source core is separately available under AGPL-3.0. Hosted access is governed by these terms, while the open source package remains governed by its license.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate signup, billing, and contact information and keep it up to date.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to break the law, violate third-party rights, interfere with the platform, bypass access controls, abuse shared infrastructure, or attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt other tenants. You are responsible for the prompts, content, and provider integrations you connect to the service.
4. API keys and tenant access
You are responsible for keeping your Virtual Context keys and any upstream provider keys secure. Do not share keys publicly or embed them in client-side code that exposes them to unauthorized users. We may rotate, suspend, or revoke credentials when needed for security or abuse prevention.
5. Billing
Paid cloud plans are billed on a recurring basis unless otherwise agreed in writing. You can upgrade or cancel through the hosted billing flow. When a subscription is canceled, access remains active through the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.
6. Self-hosting and AGPL scope
The self-hosted core remains available under AGPL-3.0. These hosted service terms do not replace or narrow the open source license for self-hosted use. If you need commercial terms for embedded, white-label, regulated, or enterprise deployment scenarios, contact us before rollout.
7. Data handling
You retain responsibility for ensuring you have the right to process content sent through the service. You should avoid sending regulated or highly sensitive data unless you have confirmed the deployment, controls, and contractual terms are appropriate for that use.
8. Availability and changes
We may update, improve, or modify the service over time. We may also suspend access where necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, or abuse prevention. No uptime commitment applies unless specifically agreed in a separate enterprise agreement.
9. Warranty disclaimer and liability
The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Virtual Context disclaims implied warranties and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
